Solar Energy to be the main source of electricity in the future

  • Clean energy creation is one of the main challenges in the near future
  • Electricity needs are increasing due to increase in population
  • The potential of the sun is huge, about 60 times more than our total expected energy needs in 2030
  • Solar is a clean, non-mechanical and easy to install, energy source and can help the planet to get back on track for a clean green future
  • Market Development for Solar

Solar energy is the best choice for decentralized energy supply in comparison to wind and biomass, when looking at cost effective solutions. The main reasons being the rooftop mounting possibility providing energy close to the need, the declining system costs and relative low maintenance. Solar PV today is only 0.012 % of the global market of electrical energy!

To meet 20% of the electricity needs by 2020 from green energy sources, Solar PV could grow to 12% of total Electricity created by 2020. In order to meet that goal, the latest analyst forecasts show a required installation base of around 390,000 MW by 2020.
